Ramblings

Joey thought this would by hysterical. You be the judge.
Also pictured is Habiba-one of the girls I tutor.
OH and a momentous occasion--Marcy can kind-of hold her bottles on her own:)

Sometimes the weeks goes by without anything exciting happening at all. Some weeks I turn paparazzi on Marcy because lots of things are fun photo-ops. This week was one of those crazy lots of picture weeks. This week we had Marcy's 4 month check up at the doctor which means more shots and weigh-ins. She rounds out at a hefty 16.5 lbs which is the 95th % for weight and the 75 for head and height. So she's a little plumper than she is tall. The doctor is sending us to the ophthalmologist because we think she's got a lazy eye. (Don't know where she got that from:) We also had to go to an audiologist this on Wednesday because apparently way back when--when we were discharged from the hospital in June we were supposed to get a referral to get her hearing tested. She had failed her newborn screening in one of her ears. We never got referred so at this 4 mo. check-up her pediatrician noticed how silent she is, checked her chart, and saw that we were supposed to have her hearing checked which might be why she wasn't very talkative. This is a long story to say that after a miserable 2 1/2 hour hearing test Marcy can hear just fine:) She just might not have inherited either of her parents chatty personalities!

We acquired a costume for the Marcy from a friend and so one of my tutoring pupils, Miriam, played dress-up with her. Marcy was surprisingly tolerant of being a doll!

The next pictures are just to show Marcy's immense cheek-age. The hat picture is actually her first time EVER wearing a hat. They didn't even ever put one on her in the hospital I don't think? Well this hat was home-made by somebody and is a wee-bit too tight on her noggin:)

I got one of those sling wrap your baby on you thingys, kinda fun, kinda more work than its worth!

Exersaucer Fun

This week we put Marcy in her exersaucer and she LOVED it. I think she likes being completely upright. This also kind of combats the puke-age which she also likes. She has entered into the phase of life where EVERYTHING goes in her mouth. She attacks our faces, fingers, blankets, bibs, etc...and slobbers all over them. The picture of the little boy would be Ashton Thomas Stewart. I had an earlier post with his mom still pregnant and he has now finally entered the world successfully and fairly happily:) We enjoy visits together as new moms and human beings and life in general.

Kyle and Sabrina, our friends.
These pictures are pretty old, but it's fun to remember how tiny she was.

Bumbo and Fingers

Today I got Marcy a bumbo:) And yes, it is as green in real life as it looks!

She loves to suck on her fingers as well as her thumb now!

Hooray for hair!

This past week was kind of rough on the family with Joey, Laura, and myself all getting sick. Praise God that Marcy didn't get the flu and seems to have passed through unscathed!

So Marcy was subjected to another first! I know its nothing compared to Savannah's piggy tails but is a start:) If you look really really close you can see approximately three hairs in a "pony-tail". She wasn't very impressed.

News

So some sad news about Joeys fishes--THey ALL died except for the fish that introduced the black plague into the tanks in the first place:) He is thriving and doing just fine. And then, just as we were about to siphon out all of the dead baby fishes into the trash we saw one wiggling sign of life:) There is now one single solitary living pleco baby and the uglyish oscar fish. Joey was extremely disappointed and now has to start all of his tanks over again--starting with bleaching the tanks and throwing away anything porous so he can really start all over with no fungus! We'll keep you posted on the last two fishes hanging on by a thread. OH and as Murphy's Law would have it Joey got violently ill this Thursday just after all of his fishes died--its been a rough week for him. He is now out the door to go fishing:) His enthusiasm rarely falters!

smelly cat..... smellly cat.... what are they feeding you?

This is after I punched that gardening fork through my leg.Smelly Cat.
Erika's Black Moor Goldfish.
Here's the proud papa of the bristle-nose pleco babies (note the bristles on his nose)
These are our newest little babies... if any of them survive they'll be worth 3 bucks a piece :)
My frog is saying her bedtime prayers.

So here are some pictures.... Marcy's first swimming lesson, my frogs, baby bristle-nose plecostomus fishes, and some other stuff.... oh yeah, and smelly cat. Smelly cat is a cat that we're baby-sitting for a while while she dries up from her last litter. Someone dropped her off at the clinic to find a home, it should be pretty easy to get her a home because she's one of those smush-faced cats that people like to pay way too much money for. (smelly cat is smelly, or at least that's what Erika tells me. (I can't smell you see)) ENJOY!
