Trees
This year was the first year that I got to have my very own Christmas tree and lemme tell ya--its a doozy! I had been begging Joey to let us get a tree immediately when we got back from Wisconsin but he said we had to wait at least until we were into December a ways. I pouted and dropped the issue.
We wrapped a plastic bag full of socks for Marcy to open.
On the evening of December the 1st I was teaching catechism at church. This gave Joey the perfect chance to sneak in a tree. Normally-I am NEVER gone, especially in the evenings so he took advantage of the situation. Anyway-I arrived home at sometime later that evening and opted against the stairs. When the elevator doors opened up to our floor I was SO excited to see buckets of needles outside the doors. I traipsed down the hallway following a trail of needles:) I am quite sure that I felt how Hansel and Gretel felt as they tracked the cookie crumbs. To my dismay the trail stopped at the apartment just before mine. I sadly opened the door but SURPRISE he had gotten me a 7 ft tall Christmas tree:) We then let Christmas descend upon our humble abode. Since we don't decorate seasonally we are rather proud of our decor this year!! We also hung a wreath on our door, a festive candle on a side table, bought a poinsettia plant, and I made an arrangement for our mantle. Maybe it will someday inspire me to decorate for other seasonal holidays? I doubt it.

We're Back in Business
Hello-after a wonderful trip home to Wisconsin we've finally made it back home here. We have about a bajillion pictures so I'll start posting them in clumps. It was GREAT to see everyone on all sides! Marcy did awesome in the car both ways (in part to her new roomy car seat) and in part to...maybe tylenol? No she just played the whole time while we all got really really sick of driving. More later.

SNOW!!!
Tomorrow Marcy has her eye appt and I wanted to try to get a picture of her goofy eye:) Its the left eye and this is the best shot I could get of her lazy eye-sometimes its worse sometimes not noticeable at all .
We got SNOW!!!! I wanted to get a picture of Marcy's first snow but then I couldn't figure out how to put her in the snow without turning her into a baby-sicle. So if you look REALLY closely in the pictures you can see the snow:) I put Marcy in the backseat of her jeep just to watch the snow and chill:) We had a good time!

Ramblings
Joey thought this would by hysterical. You be the judge.
Also pictured is Habiba-one of the girls I tutor.
OH and a momentous occasion--Marcy can kind-of hold her bottles on her own:)
Sometimes the weeks goes by without anything exciting happening at all. Some weeks I turn paparazzi on Marcy because lots of things are fun photo-ops. This week was one of those crazy lots of picture weeks. This week we had Marcy's 4 month check up at the doctor which means more shots and weigh-ins. She rounds out at a hefty 16.5 lbs which is the 95th % for weight and the 75 for head and height. So she's a little plumper than she is tall. The doctor is sending us to the ophthalmologist because we think she's got a lazy eye. (Don't know where she got that from:) We also had to go to an audiologist this on Wednesday because apparently way back when--when we were discharged from the hospital in June we were supposed to get a referral to get her hearing tested. She had failed her newborn screening in one of her ears. We never got referred so at this 4 mo. check-up her pediatrician noticed how silent she is, checked her chart, and saw that we were supposed to have her hearing checked which might be why she wasn't very talkative. This is a long story to say that after a miserable 2 1/2 hour hearing test Marcy can hear just fine:) She just might not have inherited either of her parents chatty personalities!

We acquired a costume for the Marcy from a friend and so one of my tutoring pupils, Miriam, played dress-up with her. Marcy was surprisingly tolerant of being a doll!
The next pictures are just to show Marcy's immense cheek-age. The hat picture is actually her first time EVER wearing a hat. They didn't even ever put one on her in the hospital I don't think? Well this hat was home-made by somebody and is a wee-bit too tight on her noggin:)
