Lady Di is 1 !!!!!!

It's hard to believe we're already at birthday time but this time has come:)  Our little Diana turned one on March 14.  Her one year well check revealed the following:  She is in the 60th % for weight and the 70th % for height and is mostly healthy as a horse (?). We are going in for a consult to ENT for her frequent ear infections to see what the next steps should be. She is finally walking and is quite proud of herself! In fact, she pretty much thinks that she owns the place:) Thankfully we have Marcy who is quite willing to put her in her place! In the learning to walk process Diana has given herself a black eye and has also put her bottom teeth through her bottom lip but she has conquered the task:)

We took the girls to an indoor play area on Diana's birthday.  We never stop trying to get them to sit nicely together for a picture.  Below is one of the most successful ever!  Most of the time Marcy strangles Diana while trying to get her to hold still and then tears and yelling come from everyone:)  Happy Birthday Diana!
Tessa Mae joined us to play and both little girls had a blast!!

I made her a rainbow cake with rainbow frosting.
Birthday buddies Karolyn and Diana blew out candles together-we had a joint 30th/1st celebration!
Oma letting Diana enjoy her rainbow cake!
She really got into her gift opening and loved ripping the paper!  Oh and this picture really makes me think that she looks almost like a baby because of her oh-so-bald head:)  We haven't had a whole lot of development in the hair department so I think bows are a LONG ways off!
Marcy didn't love letting Diana open all the gifts:)

Sisterly Luv

So its been a big week for Diana--she has learned how to give kisses, clap, and throw out her bottom lip in a baby fit:)  2/3 of that list is pretty cute to watch.  She will usually clap for herself if you ask her for a kiss and she obliges!   She and Marcy are also starting to work out the wrinkles of sharing toys.  I'll hear a few squeaks and squawks but they're both learning.  I think the longest I've had them stay in the toy room unsupervised has been about 45 minutes!
I think I am the first person to say that they have embroidered an axolotl in a sampler:)  I embroidered an angelfish too and put them in the girls bedroom.  Marcy is thrilled! (She's the one that asked me to sew an axolotl)

Marcy LOVES to do hair and this is often how I find the two of them when Joey's winding down after a night of work:)

Marcy picked up a purse and told me she was ready to go to Aunty Coraline's house.  I asked her if we needed undies and pants and she assured me that she was completely ready for the walk over:)

This is a pic from Marcy's first Christmas program at Little Lambs.   It is a Bible story time for kids while we mothers do a Bible study.  You can also find Dominick and Naomi in the line as well.  Dom and Naomi sang their hearts out-Marcy was mostly silent!
This is the first time Marcy was allowed to take a picture.

Happy New Year

Hope you've all had a blessed Christmas and New Year season-I know our little family has!  For some updates: Marcy is 2 1/2 yrs old and talking up a blue streak! She loves to help her dad with the axlotl tanks in the basement and sometimes even will help out with Diana.  Over the Christmas season we conquered having the girls share a bedroom and they both finally sleep through each other noises and sleep through the night!!!!!!  How about some stats:  Marcy is 2 1/2 yrs, 67% in weight for height at 33 lbs and Diana is 10 mos old, a measly 70% for weight at 21 lbs 3 oz and fairly tallish.  Neither one of my girls has been below the 90% mark so I'm starting to be worried:)  Diana is crawling all over the place-I have some sort of mom homing device because now no matter where I go in the house she is not far behind me:) She and Marcy are starting to play together and "wraasling" which is really fun to watch the two of them roll around giggling!
Christmas tree hunting!!  We didn't even cut one down, we walked up and picked up a leaning one:)

Karolyn, the kids, and I were Grandpa's Christmas fairies setting up and taking down his decorations and then we all go out to eat to Mc Donalds.  His favorite cuisine around!!!

Willie did it!!!!!  We are all so proud of you!!!

This is Marcy's first time painting-she got a jewelry box that you could decorate with glitter and jewels and paint.  She LOVED doing it:)

Diana is still a very smiley baby!!!  The 'baby' tree is because Marcy was horrified that we had to get a HUGE Christmas tree and she loves everything to be 'baby' which means tiny.  So we thought we'd give the girls their own tiny 'baby tree:)  Below is my first attempt at a homemade wreath-poor lighting but it looked beautiful!!!
THe girls got a kitchen for Christmas and LOVE it.  It was pretty sweet when Marcy figured out that "I have one and you have one Mom-its the same!' It was pretty cute.
Karl's visit to Mayo was successful so he thought he'd celebrate??? :)

And finally I am being creative ish and making the girls some monograms for above their beds.  Marcy (who we thought didn't know any of her alphabet) said M is for Marcy AND mom.  So I asked her if D is for Diana and she said nope its for Daddy:)

Lots to be festive about...

We have got LOTS to be festive about, as the title strongly alludes to.  First pics are of the Memorial Day parades-we raced around and made it to Oostburg, Sheboygan, and Hingham's parades all within 1 1/2 hours of eachother. We've got a few tootsie rolls hanging around now:)

Here's the official pictures of the paper work and the gratuitous pic in front of the sold sign. WE ARE HOMEOWNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It feels SO good and we are SOOOO happy! Come visit us at our new home anytime!  (stay tuned for more pictures to come...the bushes in front of the house are no more)

Diana got to experience her first trip to Noah's Ark with us all this June and she thought it was pretty cool.  Not really, any time we put her in water she complained...loudly!  Great time was had by all.  We tried convincing Karl and Katie to elope in the very same chapel in the Dell's that everyone tried to convince me and Joey to elope at... no luck.  Highlight of the trip:  our hotel room was double booked so they seriously upgraded us to another hotel they owned which had a sweet loft bedroom.
